Lemon balm is a perennial herb with lemon scented leaves and cream or pale purple flowers in summer
The leaves can be used in salads, fish dishes and sauces – it gives them a lemony and refreshing kick.

Lemon balm is easy to grow, grow from seeds in spring from March to May
Sow the seeds indoors or in a green house, scattering a few seeds lightly in small pots or trays of seed compost. Cover a thin layer, then water gently.
The seedlings should appear in three weeks – then transfer to bigger pots
Growing
Keep plants well watered during summer
The plants like a sunny spot and does well in large pots or containers.
