Transforming our garden shed into a summer house

Well my hubby and I have been busy turning our garden shed into a summer house- mainly for me. For me to have somewhere nice outside to relax and enjoy. I love being out in our garden but with our weather, you never know what it’s going to do so now I have shelter outside. As I do love spending time outdoors for some fresh air and daylight. I also love being out close to nature too,it’s very healing.

We do love a good project us, we like to have something to keep us busy and have goals and things that give a sense of achievement. We work well together as a team as well. Hubby is a builder and enjoys DIY, which he’s good at. He’s very practical, hardworking and creative.

I really enjoy designing/ideas and decorating – love doing the finishing touches. I enjoy being creative and making things look beautiful.

We used old left over paints that were stored in the shed from when we decorated the house. We used a lot of the wood that was spare too.
On one side of the summer house hubby made a long shelf that I’ll use to sow seeds next spring and for potting flowers. Also for some crafts I’d like to try soon ( watch this space).

On the other side, the bench/seat that he made is so comfy, somewhere to sit and read or write. We bought some foam and covered it with some leather – look material that’s easy to wipe and keep clean. We stapled it using a staple gun. The seat lid lifts up, there’s loads of storage room which is so handy.
We are really pleased with the end result. I love it!

Do you enjoy projects? Have you done any lately? Let me know in the comments.
