Things you could do at home when you are stuck in during lock down or ill health

Here are some ideas of things you could do while stuck in at home to stop the bordom
I was a very outdoorsy kid, a little adventurer. I remember always feeling so bored when I was stuck in at home. I could never think of anything to do indoors.
When I grew up and had kids of my own, we were always out an about having adventures.
Then years later, I became unwell and unable to go out on adventures. The first few years I was bored senseless – unbelievably. I hated it. THEN I started to find things that I enjoyed doing at home. Now I absolutely love being home doing all the things I enjoy, it’s very peaceful and freeing.
So for me, nothing much has changed during this lock down. I’m used to staying home now. So I thought I’d write a post to help you get through this time.

Here’s some ideas of things to do at home
• Reading
• Watching movies
• Playing puzzle games ( ipad)
• Baking/cooking
• Spring cleaning/decorating/reorganizing home
• Listening to music
• Colouring
• Learning/courses
• Photography

- Phone/message family or friends
- go on social media
- Arts/crafts – get creative!
- Sewing/knitting/crochet
- Meditate
- yoga
- work out/keep fit
- watch funny videos on Youtube
- pamper day

There are so many things to do at home

Try and see this time in a more positive light rather than in a negative way.
You never know, you might find hobbies that you enjoy doing, that you hadn’t realised before or find the time for a much needed rest. Spend some quality time with your loved ones or find more time to phone and chat.
Most of all stay safe and well at home.

Hi Sophie, glad you like it and found it useful. I’m doing okay thanks hope you are too😘
Excellent ideas. It’s amazing how many different options there are to keep us busy while at home. A few of these I hadn’t thought of. I can’t wait until I can garden but we are still buried in snow here, so it’s a good two months until that melts and the ground thaws but I’m looking forward to it.
Hi Sarah, glad you liked it, yes there are so many things we can do to stay busy and occupied. I’m sure there are lots more. Oh it’s lovely here, the sun’s been shining for the past few days😊I love this time of the year. Hope your snow thaws soon and the sun starts to shine for you too😘thanks so much for your comment😊
You’ve got some great suggestions here! I have been working from home for a while now, so that’s not new to me – but not being able to go anywhere in the evenings has taken some adjusting! I am, however, really enjoying my evenings and weekends relaxing with my husband and our dogs watching movies and relaxing.
Hi, thanks so much, glad you’ve found this useful. Yes it is hard having to stay indoors but it’s for the best to keep us safe for now… Glad your enjoying the evenings and weekends😊
Thanks for the ideas! I actually have never gardened but after the shelter in place order I ended up planting seeds and weeding out a raised garden bed that had already been in my backyard. I’m going to plant watermelons in it in June!
Hi, your welcome and glad you’ve had a go at gardening isn’t it great😊maybe be a new hobby now😘
Love this article! – I am an agoraphobic so staying at home is making me so safe. Many things that you said in your articles to do is what I do everyday: writing, blogging, photography, reading etc 🙂
Hi, that’s great glad you like it😊Oh me too, nothing much has changed for me either…I feel safer at home too. We have a lot in common don’t we😘
